What Matters for JTL Retailers Going Forward

Retail is changing fast. Artificial intelligence is moving into online shops, new marketplaces and countries are becoming more accessible, and expectations around delivery and returns keep rising. At JTL Connect in Cologne, where we had our own stand, these exact topics came up on almost every stage. We're an e-commerce fulfillment provider based in Erlensee (Hesse) and we work with JTL. So we asked ourselves what this means for logistics. Three points stood out to us in particular.

When AI agents go shopping, the warehouse has to keep up

JTL presented its own agentic platform, "Juno", and the AI Stage focused on AI agents that will increasingly shop in stores on their own. Anyone selling in this automated way needs processes in the background they can rely on: accurate stock levels, correct shipping status, and a clean handover of orders. What runs automatically in the shop has to actually arrive in the warehouse.

New countries need a warehouse that keeps pace

New marketplaces, new countries, automated data exchange in B2B: expansion was one of the big topics. Each of these steps has a logistics side to it. Stock has to be available, goods have to be picked and packed correctly, and they also have to arrive on time over longer distances. Anyone who doesn't want to build their own warehouse for this can outsource picking, packing and shipping to a fulfillment provider and scale flexibly with their business.

Warehousing, shipping and returns belong together

The Logistics Stage looked at warehousing, shipping and returns as one connected chain, with first-hand accounts of warehouse automation and picking robots. That matches our everyday work. For online retailers we handle picking, packaging and shipping as well as returns management, on request also with automated, robot-assisted picking.

Without a clean interface, none of this helps

The shop system and the warehouse need to work together smoothly. Whether orders arrive correctly, stock levels are accurate, and tracking information reliably flows back – it all comes down to the interface. Ideally, you barely notice the connection in everyday operations. Find out what matters most in our guide: Which shop systems can be connected to an e-commerce fulfillment provider?

What we bring to the table

You sell. We store, pack and ship. Behind that are over 100 employees at two locations (Erlensee and Großostheim), more than 500 customers, and certifications to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and the EU organic certification.

What will your logistics look like in two years?

Do you work with JTL, or are you planning to switch, and want to know what fulfillment with us actually looks like? We're happy to advise you on your plans.
