Direct shipping

In logistics, a direct shipment is also referred to as direct traffic or unbroken traffic. This is a transport in which material goods are transported directly from the starting address to the destination address without reloading. This means that there is no transshipment of goods and the collecting vehicle delivers the consignment itself. This means that neither logistics distribution centers nor storage areas are required.

The advantages of direct shipments include time savings, as no goods handling or detours are necessary, as well as less damage caused by people and machines. In addition, complete and partial losses are minimized because, due to the elimination of goods handling, no incorrect loading of goods can take place. In addition, due to the possibility of delivery outside the system transports, a higher delivery flexibility is given.
